Classified as a northern suburb, Rapid Creek is situated 11km from Darwin CBD. Rapid Creek is confined between the Rapid Creek in the east, Nightcliff Road in the west, Timor Sea in the north and Trower Road in the south. Before World War II, Rapid Creek was the destination for daily picnics, bush walks and a spot to enjoy nature. Following the war, bush tracks were developed into Bagot road and McMillans Road. You will find that Majority of the streets in Rapid Creek are named after police officers.
